PALESTINE: STOLEN HOMELAND
1948-2015
Please join us (Voices for Palestine and Palestine Solidarity Committee) to remember the Nakba (Arabic for “catastrophe”) of 1948, when Zionists forcefully drove over 700,000 Palestinians out of historic Palestine to create what is now called Israel. Over 400 Palestinian villages were destroyed in this unbelievably inhuman displacement. And the Nakba is ongoing as Palestinians still clinging to their land are still being attacked, besieged, and driven out of their homes by the Israeli Military.
This Nakba remembrance will evoke the ongoing Palestine refugee experience, including PALESTINE: STOLEN HOMELAND, a display of more than 100 white tents inscribed with the names of over 400 of the destroyed villages from 1948 Palestine.
While Israel's theft of their land (and the support of the international community for this outrage) has been devastating, both indigenous Palestinians and refugees scattered across the globe have continued to stand fast in their quest to regain their Homeland.
Join us to celebrate and learn from the sumud (perseverance) of the people of Palestine
[Set-up of the display will start at 11:00. Would love to have your help with this, if possible. Otherwise, see you at the event from noon to 3 pm!]
See you there!
