Gaza Women Defy Hamas Shisha Ban

The Hamas-run government in Gaza has banned women from smoking shisha, or hubbly bubbly water pipes, in public.

On Sunday, plain-clothes agents patrolled beachside cafés enforcing the edict.

However, some Gazan women are still smoking.

The BBC's Hamada Abu Qamar met Jihad, a veiled woman in her twenties, who was enjoying her shisha at sunset.

I hate sexism, and I do think that if Hamas wants to ban argileh then they should include the whole population, now with that being said, I do still see the rationale behind their (sexist) decision, generally kids are more attached to their mother, seeing their mother smoke raises the chances of them becoming smokers. my father is a smoker, and I do find it quite annoying and unpleasant, my mother does not, but if my mother did it too, I don't think I would have been able to handle it (smell, her hands touching food, etc). my 2 cents!

P.S. just to clarify, I do believe that people should be given free will, and my problem isn't with freedom, for example, I wouldn't have been able to see a rationale behind - say- a rule that prevents women from wearing bikini on Gaza beach, because this obviously does harm to NO ONE.

Why not work for peace and coexistance with your neighbors? Why support the killing of Jews? Try to better your own people, your own children, hamas is just fanatics.
Its been enough war, recognize Israel stop the rockets, smoke what you like and live in peace.

The above comment about working for peace is stupid beyond belief.

An example of people trying to pretend Israelis are working for peace. Anyone paying attention knows that is not true; whereas the nonviolent demos in all the villages and in Gaza also show who IS working for peace. Palestinians.
