If we are really serious about climate change then we have to give up the automobile and the cars first transportation system. If capitalism is the pushing the climate crisis and the automobile is the most important commodity of corporate capitalism, then #ExtinctionRebellion better give up their cars.
Well, I'm part of #ExtinctionRebellion and I don't have a car. I'm sure there are others also. The main demands include that the Government must tell the truth about the ecological emergency we are in, enact legally binding policy measures to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025; and the creation of a national Citizen’s Assembly to oversee the changes necessary as part of creating a democracy fit for purpose.
