The Australian senate has approved $10 million USD aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The senate's decision was stimulated by a group of activists on Facebook who called themsleves "The Pro-Palestinian Lobby on Facebook."

The group, which was formed shortly after the war on Gaza started, consists of a number of networks that together amount to nearly one million people, including Palestinians, and internationals from different parts of the world.

In a letter sent to the Australian Senate, through affiliated members of the Green Party in Australia, the group has requested the Senate to express concern and regret in relation to the deaths of 437 Palestinian children.

They have also requested the Australian Government to commit to further financial aid in the sum of $15 Million to UNRWA for the purpose of delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and to facilitate the relocation of a number of Palestinian families to seek and receive treatment for their injured children.

The group has also lobbied and managed to get pledges from a German group to examine the weapons used by Israel in its 22-day military operation in the Gaza Strip for evidence of the use of White Phosphorus or any other illegal weapon.

At least 1350 Palestinians were killed and more than 5000 have been injured in one of the most violent Israeli attacks in the past forty years in the Gaza Strip, which lasted from Dec. 27th to Jan. 18th.
